UBA Uganda’s MTN Mobile Money Escrow service allows merchants and MTN Mobile Money agents to securely and conveniently purchase and cash out float across the UBA branch network. This service supports an ecosystem of super dealers, territory dealers, fintech companies, MTN Mobile Money agents, and walk-in customers, ensuring seamless business and personal transactions.
How does it work?
MTN Mobile Money users (agents, merchants, super dealers, and corporate partners) in need of MTN Mobile Money float will access the trust account services in four main ways:
- Branch / Over the Counter through our banking halls: The cashiers will receive the customer’s money and avail float on their mobile money line. The customer will receive an SMS notification to confirm that float has been allocated to them. The branch touch point will service both account holders and non-account holders.
Who Can Access the Product?
- Any agent that services your day-to-day MTN Mobile Money needs
- Super Dealers who manage a territory of agents on day-to-day basis
- Corporate partners such as financial technology companies who have regular need for MTN Mobile Money float
What Does the Customer Require To Be Able To Use the Product?
There are a few requirements needed for a customer to use this product and these are;
- Registered and active MTN agent and merchant line
- Cash or float depending on the MTN Mobile Money service required
